Purpose #4 | How to get started with your mission

Are you aware of the shift already happening?

People are waking up to the idea that life might be about more than acting like a robot in survival mode, obeying rules, and consuming in order to release happiness hormones instantly. People become aware of the fact that this physical reality we’ve created together is not all there is, and that it doesn’t HAVE TO work that way. Do you also feel the urge to live life fully, to express yourself without putting on any mask? The internet has been a massive supporter in this change happening right now as it provides information and virtual stories of people living their dream lives. However, ….

…what’s missing is an understanding of “How” to start in order to live a more meaningful life. It begins, again, with your awareness for the current situation. Whatever painful circumstances have brought you to the point where you desperately feel ready for change; everything happens for a reason. No regrets are necessary. Right now, you’re here. And you can choose in every single moment. And yes, you deserve the most amazing life you’ve ever dreamed of.

“You have the power to achieve greatness and create
anything you want in life – but you must take action!”
(Jack Canfield)

Living a life full of purpose sounds like a dream, very tempting, but at the same time, it also sounds overwhelming. The perfectionist in many of us shows up and tries to figure out everything perfectly in order to have a plan. However, as this inner critic doesn’t even believe in a fulfilling and meaningful life, it is much easier to give up the idea in the first place and continue with the old patterns. Well, without success, of course. Coming back to your “old” life will make you even more upset and misaligned than before.

Are you tired of this vicious cycle?
Do you feel like not listening to what this mean voice in your head tells you all day long?
All these self-destructive stories you’ve carried within for years, decades, probably your entire life?

Get ready for more inspiring lines on “How to get started” in the journey of finding your purpose … Enjoy!

~ Forgive and let go ~

Before tapping into your passion, there’s one part you cannot miss out if you truly want to shine your authentic light: forgiveness and letting go. You can only create a new (different) future if you’re willing to let go of the past; if you do not beat anyone else or even yourself up anymore for what has happened so far. Otherwise, you will stay stuck in your ego and won’t be able to connect with your Higher Self and your purpose.

Why not look at the past this way:

  • You have been innocently discovering life so far, tried out a few things which might have worked or did not work out.
  • All you have created and explored so far has brought you more knowledge, experience, and it has shaped you to the exact person you are right now.
  • Every single moment you experienced and every single person you was a teacher, a gift. They prepared you for this very moment.
  • Acknowledge it, express gratitude, accept everything that has happened, because remember this: each of us (yourself included) always acts out of their current state of consciousness. We always do the best we can. So please, be gentle with yourself!
  • As you’re shifting your state of consciousness right now, you are ready for a new adventure.

The moment you forgive, let go and make peace with the past, you will be ready to embark on this new chapter of your own story …

“I choose to let go of everything
that does no longer serve me.”

Make a phrase like this your daily affirmation. Repeat it loudly before you go to sleep and right after waking up, because that’s the best time to reach the depth of your sub-consciousness. To make this method even more powerful, sit up straight, close your eyes, take a deep breath in, exhale completely. Put your hands over your heart and say the affirmation.

Choose to forgive. Choose to let go.

In this very moment of silence, set an intention to step into your greatest version.

~ Take the first step ~

There is no prescription on how to live life. – Are you fully aware of that?

But what about the idea of kindergarten, school, uni, job, family, job, retirement, death…?

Like any other reality: you can either submit to this idea or not. It is always up to your choice. Always.

One of my latest articles gives you a questionnaire of key questions to find your purpose. It helps you to remember what you’re truly passionate about, what you’re talented in, and what resonates with you the most. These are the most important hints which open the first door to your purposeful life. Take this knowledge (memory) and simply begin where you are right now. Start with a little action step in your daily life. Go into the direction of what moves you deeply and authentically. Take one step at a time. You’re entering a new reality now. The next door opens itself as soon as you’re ready to take another step. Every single step will reveal to you the next one.

“Life can only be understood backwards;
but it must be lived forwards.”
(Soren Kierkegaard)

Let’s get specific – How to start?

Create space for yourself every single day. No excuse. No exception. Make it a non-negotiable. At least 5-10 minutes. Take this time for you to follow your passion: Sing. Write. Record a video. Practice yoga. Take photos. Design a website. Start a podcast and talk about your heart topics. Enrol in the online course you’ve considered so long to start with. Just take one step and commit to it!

Simply by taking this little time every day, you will shift your vibrational frequency and tap into a different mindset. You will experience moments when you’re connected with your Higher Self. You will send a signal to the universe saying “Yes! I am ready! I want to tap into my power right now”. You will express the frequency that you are ready and committed to the authentic version of yourself.

The light only sees itself in the shadow.

A purpose is something that is revealed to you in the process of living it. You cannot figure it out by sitting and thinking about your possibilities. You don’t have to know the entire map of where you are going to get to where you are meant to be. You will be guided every step of the way. Only by doing something you will be able to recognize what works for you and what doesn’t. It will be reflected to you like a mirror.

~ Live your purpose in every moment ~

Living your purpose means to live a meaningful, fulfilling life where you add value to other’s and give the world something back. Ultimately: to connect, to find out and experience who you really are along the way. So, it’s not primarily about some kind of work you make a living out of. This is rather a side-effect which confirms you’re on your path. As you take the first step, you will experience the possible version of yourself that you’re meant to be. Through the repetition of living in this frequency, your mind (sub-consciousness) will perceive it as part of your reality. The more focus and energy you put into this version of yourself, the more it expands. Thus, not only the outcomes of your “work” and effort you put into your purpose will grow, but you will also become more accustomed to this new you by doing what you love.

You’ll notice that when you live your passion, time does no longer exist. We can only live and create in this present moment anyway. If you live fully without constantly thinking about the past or the future, you do live your purpose already. As you are fully present with the moment, you make the most aligned choices anyway. Your passion is the gateway to hop into this very moment, to tap into the frequency of love which automatically connects you with your Highest Self.

“Time isn’t precious at all, because it is an illusion.
What you perceive as precious is not time but the one point that is out of time:
the Now. That is precious indeed.
The more you are focused on time
past and futurethe more you miss the Now.”
(Eckhart Tolle)

Although you might not write on your book or follow your specific work-related purpose, you can live your purpose in each and every moment. For example, by giving a stranger a smile, by helping an older woman with her grocery bags, by hugging your partner without any specific reason … by being the most joyful version of yourself who sees the bigger picture; who is not limited to the small egoic perspective.

Every single moment is a precious gift. It is only the Here and Now that you can experience and in which you can create. That’s all you have. The past is gone, the future does not exist yet. Follow your passion and you will arrive back in this magical moment where you will be able to see the numerous opportunities you have. Choose from the heart. And you will live your purpose.

~ Find your “Why” ~

Make yourself comfortable with the idea that it always needs one step into the uncomfortable unknown in order to create something different.

“Being at ease with not knowing is crucial
for answers to come to you.”
(Eckhart Tolle)

Especially in these moments when we are tempted to give up on our path, it is important to have an intrinsic motivation at hand. This is your bigger “WHY”. If you are not sure why you do something, it probably won’t be sustainable. A clear sense of purpose enables you to laser-focus all your effort on why you do what you do. It will compel you to move forward, even to take risks at some time, regardless of the obstacles or challenges you’ll face along the way.

Take some time. Sit down. Get clear about WHY you want to live your purposeful life. Write down everything that comes to your mind. Take this piece of paper and put it on the wall, a door or the fridge – wherever you will face it again and again.

A purposeful life is within your reach. As simple as it sounds, but you just have to choose it. Make space for the thing(s) that moves you deeply. Take the 1ststep and follow your intuition in the process. Stay open to opportunities that will approach you along the way.

Remember: The universe always has your back.

Namasté,

yours Isabel!
