Recipe: Ayurvedic almond milk shake

“The great thing about Ayurveda is
that its treatments always yield side benefits, not side effects.”
(Shubhra Krishan)

Ayurveda – The science of life. As you probably know, I am a proponent of the Ayurvedic principles as the ancient Indian medical system teaches us many nuggets of wisdom when it comes to holistic health and well-being.

This smooth blend is a nourishing, grounding, and soothing drink recommended for each dosha (mind-body-type). Especially people with a high vata constitution (like myself) profit from this blend of almond milk with a touch of fiery ginger, warming cinnamon and the charming sweetness from the dates.

As for now, let’s apply theory into practice:

Ingredients (1 serving)

  • 1 cup almond milk (ideally homemade)
  • 2 dates (ideally soaked)
  • 1 pinch cinnamon
  • small piece of ginger

Instructions

  1. Pit the dates (and soak them in water for 1-2 hours).
  2. Put all ingredients into a blender and blend firmly.
  3. Serve shake at room temperature or warm milk before blending.

Creamy, sweet, tasy, and noushing – enjoy!
